The doula benefit is available for members with health insurance and Medicaid plans based in RI: BCBSRI, United Health RI, NHPRI, Harvard Pilgrim. I'm also in network with MassHealth.
Please call the number on the back of your card to confirm this benefit. Get a reference number for the call.
You'll provide me with a photo of your insurance card and I will bill the insurance company directly; there is no out-of-pocket expense to your family.
If you do not have RI based insurance coverage, please view my Services page.
Insurance plans cover doula services for both birth and postpartum support.
Most plans offer 6 home visits (prenatal and/or postpartum) and labor support at the hospital. View your plans benefit directly.
Doulas are private providers; labor support and home visits are mutually determined by you and your doula.
Home visits can be used anytime during the first year of birth.
Visit's are approximately 2 hours long and scheduled at your home during "regular" business hours.
Please consider using a home visit for prenatal breast feeding education; especially to understand interventions that may be recommended during your hospital stay.
